NCAA Mascot Madness (Elite 8, Final Four, and Championship)

This is the final part of a 3 part tournament called NCAA Mascot Madness. This tournament is using the same seeding as the actual NCAA March Madness tournament, but using the team’s mascots instead, and instead of playing a basketball game to determine the outcome they fight in a 1 on 1 matchup to determine who moves on. For a more in-depth explanation of the tournament, check the previous post for the Round of 64 and Round of 32 and Sweet 16. There you can find a better explanation and also see how we arrived at the final 8 teams we will put against each other today.

ELITE 8:

9.Tiger(LSU) vs 7.Spartan(Michigan St.)

A Spartan warrior is basically a trained killing machine, and even though mascots with better weapons couldn’t take out the tiger the Spartan has better armor and a shield, and again is trained from a young age to be a warrior.

Winner:7.Spartan(Michigan St.)

8.Aztecs(San Diego St.) vs 14.Dragon(UAB)

After this fight there will be a dragon standing there. Don’t ask where the Aztec went.

Winner:14.Dragon(UAB)

16.Pirate(Hampton) vs 15.Aggie/Double Pistol Cowboy(New Mexico St.)

The Pirate does have some type of guns, but a single shot musket won’t stand a chance against the double revolvers of the Cowboy.

Winner:15.Aggie/Double Pistol Cowboy(New Mexico St.)

9.Cowboy(Oklahoma St.) vs 15.Tiger(Texas Southern)

This one goes along with a prior tiger vs cowboy match-up on the other side of the bracket in one of the earlier rounds. The tiger is way too quick to kill in time, especially with a short range revolver, before it gets too close and destroys the cowboy.

Winner:15.Tiger(Texas Southern)

FINAL FOUR:

7.Spartan(Michigan St.) vs 14.Dragon(UAB)

The Spartan is a great warrior, but is still no match for a Dragon.

Winner:14.Dragon(UAB)

15.Aggie/Double Pistol Cowboy(New Mexico St.) vs 15.Tiger(Texas Southern)

The tiger has defeated cowboys in the past, but this cowboy isn’t like any other cowboy in the tournament. He has not one, but two revolvers. Yes, this could be looked at as a stupid minor fact, but how often do you see a cowboy who specifically is called double pistol cowboy. Which means that the amount of shots he can get off is multiplied by two when firing at the tiger. Sure the Tiger can take one or two bullets, but 4 bullets is a whole other story.

Winner:15.Aggie/Double Pistol Cowboy(New Mexico St.)

CHAMPIONSHIP:

14.Dragon(UAB) vs 15.Aggie/Double Pistol Cowboy(New Mexico St.)

In this epic showdown we have two worthy mascots that have fought through multiple rounds of other mascots to make it here in the championship game. The double pistol cowboy will be able to put on a great fight and really give the Dragon a run for its money, this might actually be the first match-up for the dragon where it gets wounded a bit, because that double pistol cowboy will easily get about 4 to 6 shots off before hes burned or eaten by the dragon.

CHAMPION:14.Dragon(UAB)

This NCAA Mascot Madness tournament will end with the UAB Dragon cutting down the net. Well actually the dragon did not play basketball to win the tournament it basically just destroyed every other mascot it faced, so forget that part about the nets.

If you liked this tournament, or if you had a problem with the outcome and think another mascot should have won, feel free to leave feedback in the comments section, or if you found this tournament interesting don’t forget to share it with a friend whose team might have gone further in this tournament then the real thing, especially UAB fans I guess.
